In 2019, RBC Future Launch and Riipen launched a partnership with the goal of increasing access to high-impact work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities for Canadian post-secondary students Our shared mission: to help prepare learners, particularly those from underserved communities, for the Future of Work. By the end of 2022, the RBC-Riipen partnership has delivered over 27,000 online WIL experiences, to a wide diversity of learners and educational partners across Canada with the potential of delivering over 250,000 by 2026.

Data Analysis and Visualization - Summer 2025

This course is part of the Data Analytics certificate program. Students in the program are adult learners with a post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science, engineering, business, etc. The students learn how to perform exploration of data in order to discover meaningful information to solve problems, and will allow for the application of analytics life cycle in the context of planning to solve a business problem. Emphasis is placed on framing the problem, proposing an analytics solution, communicating with stakeholders, and establishing an analytics-focused project plan. Common data visualization tools and techniques are explored and used as students learn best practices for the presentation and communication of analytical solutions and insights.

At most engineering schools, students are hired for cooperative education work terms at various businesses and non-profits. This model is an excellent way for students to gain experience, meet people, and do some work along the way. The partner organization benefits from new ideas and gets some minor additional work completed. UPEI’s unique design clinic program offers a different opportunity for industry partners that, for many businesses, achieves greater value. The cost is similar to hiring a student for a co-op term. However, under our model, industry partners interact with a team of 4–6 second year students over eight months to develop a solution to a technical challenge from within their organization. The faculty provides technical guidance to the students, meaning the partner doesn’t have to attach as many resources to the project. The process and outcomes are meaningful for the partner and students alike. Marketing Strategies for Non-Profit Organizations

Students will apply marketing concepts learned in class for non profit organizations. It is imperative that these recommended strategies be realistic and workable for an NPO's program taking into account the challenges faced by the nonprofit currently. In order to do this, students would need to do a situational analysis of the organization using primary and secondary research that will be reflected in their reports and presentations.

Delivering Cybersecurity Solutions : July 3 - Aug 14

Are you seeking innovative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges while supporting the development of emerging talent? Collaborate with students from York University’s Cybersecurity program on a project-based experience tailored to your organizational needs. Project Overview Students will work on a customized cybersecurity project designed to address a specific challenge or opportunity within your organization. Possible project topics include, but are not limited to: Developing a Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC). Cyber risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Incident response and disaster recovery planning. Threat intelligence and vulnerability analysis. Security architecture and system hardening. Governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks. Students will engage with your organization virtually using communication tools of your choice. They are available to contribute up to 39 hours from June 19th to August 14th , ensuring a focused and efficient collaboration.

Computer Systems Technology - Capstone Project

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this program/course study and employ practical and theoretical concepts obtained in first year systems analysis and design courses by building an IT system. They will work as part of a development team on an IT problem for an external industry client. Their project will include the production and demonstration of functioning components of the system each release within deadlines set out in their project management documentation
Electrical and Computer Engineering Capstone in Engineering Science

Bring on learners from the Engineering Science Electrical and Computer Engineering capstone course at the University of Toronto to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based design experience. Learners will work on one design design cycle of a project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
Leadership and Management in Action

This experience is designed for learners in a management skills course, focusing on the practical application of leadership, decision making, negotiation, goal setting, and team building. Participants will have the opportunity to apply these skills in real-world scenarios, enhancing their ability to lead teams, make informed decisions, and negotiate effectively. By engaging in projects that require strategic planning and collaboration, learners will bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing them for future leadership roles.
Data Science and Analytics (University of Calgary)
My learners are equipped to tackle projects in machine learning and statistical learning, having gained proficiency in Python and R. They have engaged with several hands-on courses covering machine learning, statistical data analysis, SQL and database management, Tableau dashboard creation, data engineering, and big data. I am seeking internship projects that will help them apply their skills as part of their data science master’s program. Please note that learners will register for their internship between May and August 2025. If you wish to start working with them during this period, it would be ideal.
